I think with one day in the New Rochelle area we can accomplish several things, like the library, a meeting at VFW (counting on Harold Crocker for that) a tour of area and a Fort Slocum Exhibition hosted by Bill Mullen. Bill is also discussing with the mayor about a possible visit to Fort Slocum/Davids Island. I'm counting on Friday for New Rochelle. I'll be driving up from Richmond, VA, either July 4th or 5th. The NYC spots are just a wish list now, I doubt we can fit in more than 2 items on the list, probably TWC Memorial and Governors Island (Fort Jay). I'll be setting up a poll later. I only wish we had it around 10 or 20 years ago. Because I'm one of the few veterans on this site, I'd like to ask everyone to contact anybody they remember and have them join us online. I can only remember a few names and addresses of those I worked with. Who knew if we were ever going to have a reunion when we left the island for the last time. I never kept old rosters of names from our bulletin board. They were thrown away the next day or the next week. I'm surprised that we don't have some from New Rochelle or Westchester County on here. I have put out information on New Rochelle Topix, New Rochelle Talk, and several other sites, including the city historian, Barbara Davis.
